Willis Should Be Gagged in Trump Case, Says Analyst

(DailyVantage.com) – The legal team of former president Donald Trump, along with his political allies, are bemoaning what they are calling a “double-standard” regarding the gag orders against the former chief executive in a number of his high-profile lawsuits.

Kerri Kupec Urbahn, a legal analyst for Fox News, pointed out to the news outlet that all the gag orders issued in Trump’s cases have only been against him, even though other people involved in the suits, such as Georgia’s Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and New York Attorney General Letitia James, have been making multiple public statements regarding the proceedings and the people involved – Trump included.

Urbahn asked how Trump’s multiple statements on social media – often on his self-owned Twitter-like platform, Truth Social, are different from public statements made by Willis or James. James has live-tweeted proceedings in Trump’s fraud trial in New York, while Willis has been even more outspoken, invoking issues of racial prejudice that she feels is behind Trump and his allies’ attacks on her and her personal life.

The statements come on the heels of reported plans by Trump’s legal team and allies to push for a gag order against Fulton County DA Willis. Willis has recently faced controversy over her intimate personal relationship with Nathan Wade, a special prosecutor she hired to join the state of Georgia’s legal effort against the former president. Willis has remained unapologetic over what some are calling a conflict of interest and a gross breach of ethics in her relationship with Wade.

“I don’t feel like my reputation needs to be reclaimed,” Willis said in an interview with news outlet CNN. “I have not done anything that’s illegal,” she added, warning the former chief executive, saying that “the train is coming.”

Willis has also persisted in making public statements about Trump’s Georgia indictment, despite being rebuked by Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee, the magistrate presiding over the case.
