(DailyVantage.com) – Democratic California Representative Nancy Pelosi is getting heat from far-left liberals who have taken issue with her and the government’s stand on the Israel-Hamas conflict in the Middle East.
During a speech in Seattle at a fundraising event for fellow Democrat, Representative Suzan DelBene, Pelosi was heckled by several protesters who gatecrashed the event and took turns interrupting the former House speaker’s remarks by shouting various pro-Palestinian slogans such as calling for the “the liberation of Palestine” and the “end to the zionist occupation”.
A report by Seattle-based journalist Ari Hoffman for the Post Millennial news outlet have linked the protesters to an organization named the “Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network”. The said group has called for the release of terrorists from jail and is allegedly affiliated with Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, another group that is in turn considered a terrorist organization by the U.S. government.
Representative Pelosi herself has hazarded that not all pro-Palestinian groups and organizations are sincere in their advocacies. Speaking on CNN’s “State of the Union”, the California representative said that while there are definitely pro-Palestinian protesters who are “spontaneous and organic and sincere”, there are also those who have their own, more nefarious agendas. Pelosi said that she believes that some groups may have ties to Russia. She conceded that the U.S. has to step in to attempt to “stop the suffering in Gaza,” but calls for a complete ceasefire in the region is “Mr. [Vladimir] Putin’s message.” Pelosi also said that she believes that the financing of some pro-Palestinian groups should be investigated by the FBI.
“And I say that having looked at this for a long time now,” she said.
Pelosi’s statements come as Putin seeks to wage an information and public perception war against the U.S. and other Western countries, who stand in the way of Moscow’s continued invasion of Ukraine. The Russian dictator has blamed the crisis in the Middle East on America, saying that the “ruling elites” in the United States and have used their “satellites” to kill Palestinian civilians.
