Asa Hutchinson HITS Donald Trump – Here’s What He Said

(DailyVantage.com) – Former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, who recently declared his candidacy for President in 2024, went after former President Donald Trump during an interview with NBC on Tuesday

According to Hutchinson, Trump has “taken us back to bitterness”.

In Hutchinson’s summation, Trump is more focused on himself than he is on the welfare of the country. “Whenever you look at what he wants to do as president”, Hutchinson said, “it’s more about getting even with his political enemies than leading our country…”

Hutchinson went on to say that “nobody wants a Biden-Trump race again”. That assertion, however, is rather dubious, being that the former President is mopping the floor with the other GOP hopefuls.

Still, Hutchinson is convinced that if Trump is the Republican Party’s nominee in 2024, the Democrats will have an easy road to victory.

General election polling, however, tells a very different story. According to the RealClearPolitics averages, Trump has just under a 2% lead over President Biden in a head-to-head. And a Rasmussen Reports poll from early-April has Trump ahead of Biden by an impressive 7 points. While it’s obviously far too early to put much stake in the polls, it is clear that Trump still remains a formidable challenger in 2024.

Hutchinson, though, is a staunch never-Trumper and is likely to continue hitting the 45th President.

The former Arkansas Governor says that he wants to provide Americans with “new leadership”. “If you don’t say ‘I’m different from Donald Trump, that I’m going to provide a different leadership than he does’, then why are you in the race?”, Hutchinson declared.

Hutchinson, however, remains in the single digits, along with former South Carolina Governor and Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy. Though Hutchinson may not like it, Trump remains the clear frontrunner.
