Biden’s IRS Pick Gets DEVASTATING News – The Hammer Drops!

(DailyVantage.com) – Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV), who is known for being one of the more conservative Democrats in the Senate, said on Wednesday that he would oppose Biden’s pick to head the Internal Revenue Service, Daniel Werfel.

Manchin has been dissatisfied with how Biden has been implementing the Inflation Reduction Act. Manchin, in regard to the anti-inflation law, said “At every turn, this administration has ignored congressional intent when implementing the Inflation Reduction Act.”

Manchin has said that, while he thinks Werfel is qualified to serve as head of the IRS, he isn’t confident that he will have the “autonomy to perform the job in accordance with the law…”

Manchin’s beef, therefore, appears not to be with Biden’s appointee to head the IRS, but with the federal government’s ability to properly implement the Inflation Reduction Act.

This, however, is not the first time that Manchin and the administration have butted heads. In December of 2021, Manchin famously opposed Biden’s $2.2 trillion Build Back Better bill. Manchin voiced concerns about adding to the national debt. In a statement, Manchin attacked his own party’s spending habits, saying “my Democratic colleagues in Washington are determined to dramatically reshape our society in a way that leaves our country even more vulnerable to the threats we face.”

Manchin also clashed with the administration regarding proposed changes to the centuries-old filibuster. He, alongside with Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ), objected to abolishing the old Senate tradition.

The centrist-Democrat will be up for re-election in 2024. Having held his seat since 2010, a Republican victory in November would be a massive upset.

Representative Alex Mooney (R-WV), who declared his candidacy for Manchin’s seat, thinks that he’s the man for the job. In November of 2022 Mooney said that he “looks forward to standing on my conservative record.”
