He May Run THIRD PARTY – As 2024 Rumors Swirl!

(DailyVantage.com) – Former Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, who has been outspoken in his criticisms of former President Donald Trump, announced last week that he would not run for President as a Republican. The announcement caught many by surprise, as he was widely speculated to be a contender in 2024.

Hogan, in an article published in the New York Times, wrote that he would “not be seeking the Republican nomination for president.”

He did not, however, say that he wouldn’t consider running on a third-party line

When asked by ABC News about whether he would consider a third-party run, Hogan responded “I have ruled out seeking the Republican nomination. And I haven’t ruled that out.” Hogan did, however, say that a third-party candidacy was not something that he is currently thinking about.

Talk of the liberal-Republican former Governor seeking the presidency, though, was not purely speculative. There were some serious indications that he would throw his hat into the ring for 2024. Just last month, Hogan said that he was “seriously considering” a run for president. He, along with former V.P. Mike Pence, Senator Tim Scott, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and others, were considered serious prospects for 2024.

Now, though, it looks as if Hogan may play the role of spoiler-candidate in 2024.

President Trump, whose poll numbers have been skyrocketing as of late, took to Truth Social to opine on Hogan’s decision not to run. Trump wrote, “Too bad Larry Hogan, the RINO Former Governor of Maryland, is dropping out of the Presidential Race. While he didn’t stand a chance, he would have been fun to practice on!”

Trump, in the latest 2024 Republican Primary poll conducted by Emerson, is trouncing his competition with a whopping 30-point lead. DeSantis, who has not yet decided to run, is a distant second.
