(DailyVantage.com) – Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia) interrupted President Joe Biden several times during his State of the Union speech and demanded that he force his son Hunter to pay taxes.
Greene yelled at President Biden after the president described himself as a capitalist and asked American citizens to pay their “fair share” in taxes. Some lawmakers see Biden’s comment as ironic and dishonest given Hunter Biden’s alleged involvement in multiple tax offenses. President Biden also called for tax code reform but failed to acknowledge his son’s various tax offenses during the address.
Greene’s comments serve as the latest reminder of the various indictments against Hunter Biden, which include multiple federal income tax-related offenses. According to federal prosecutors, Hunter Biden intentionally withheld paying taxes from 2016 to 2019, resulting in nine different tax offenses. Prosecutors said that Hunter Biden had access to the money required to pay his taxes, citing his income from the years he failed to pay taxes, raising concerns that Hunter Biden attempted to cheat the IRS.
Although the evidence against Hunter Biden relating to his tax charges is damning, prosecutors also brought other unrelated criminal charges against President Biden’s son. Hunter Biden also faces a charge related to his alleged dishonesty on paperwork required to obtain a firearm, a felony punishable by up to ten years in federal prison. Hunter Biden characterized the various charges against him as politically motivated criminal proceedings. Despite Hunter Biden’s claims, the president’s son has to reappear in court soon due to his alleged attempt at avoiding federal income tax.
After her initial interruption referencing Hunter Biden’s tax offenses, Greene interrupted President Biden again to reference Laken Riley, a young nursing student allegedly murdered by an illegal immigrant. Greene’s comments about Riley seemingly caught President Biden off-guard, prompting him to briefly address Riley’s death and admit her accused killer was an illegal immigrant. President Biden’s admission immediately made national headlines, as Riley’s death serves as a common talking point among lawmakers who believe the United States needs border reform to avoid similar tragedies.
Democratic lawmakers such as Chuy García (D-Illinois) took to social media to share their disbelief that President Biden would use the word “illegal” while referring to Riley’s alleged murderer. Democrats often prefer the term “undocumented” due to the negative connotation of saying someone illegally entered the United States. Other lawmakers agreed with García and believed President Biden made a mistake by admitting an illegal immigrant murdered a young college nursing student.
