Biden Mocks Trump at White House Correspondents’ Dinner

( – As tradition dictated, the most recent White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner was a roast of different personalities, which included President Joe Biden taking potshots at former president and presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

Addressing the issue of age, Biden referred to his upcoming presidential contest with Trump as a “grown man [himself]” running against a “six-year-old [Trump]” while touting the fact that he has been campaigning all over the country and is in the pink of health.

The president also took aim at one of Trump’s recent gaffes, where he rambled incoherently on the Battle of Gettysburg. Biden said that the blunder was “so embarrassing the statue of Robert E. Lee surrendered again”, eliciting laughter from the crowd. Biden also joked that former vice president Mike Pence is endorsing him rather than Trump. Pence, who served as Trump’s second-in-command during the latter’s tenure in the White House, since fallen out of favor with the former chief executive after repeatedly criticizing his former boss and running against him in the Republican primary. Pence eventually conceded after consistent poor showings in the polls, but has refused to endorse Trump as the Republican presidential nominee.

Biden also made references to Trump’s current “hush money” lawsuit in New York, calling it “Stormy weather” for the former president. The quip alluded to Stormy Daniels, the former adult film star with whom Trump allegedly had an affair with, and supposedly paid off with campaign funds to keep silent about it in an effort to prevent the news from damaging his 2016 presidential campaign.

The president took shots at Trump’s special “God Bless America” Bibles, which go for $59.99 each on Trump’s website. “Trump’s so desperate he started reading those Bibles he’s selling,” Biden quipped, but said that the former commander-in-chief could not take the First Commandment of the Ten Commandments that says, “You shall have no other Gods before me.”
